promote the population growth of the great bustard creation of numerous special bustard conservation areas in Austria within the agri-environmental program; creation of roughly 70ha fallow strips each year from 2003-2006; creation of suitable nesting sites; control of red fox numbers hunters were involved in much of the on-the-ground work
