Ecological restoration project of the Salix marsh in the Sensée valley in Nord-Pas-de-Calais

July 4, 2019 FACE

A private property of 6 ha, the restoration of the site is carried out by young volunteer hunters from the Fédération des chasseurs du Nord-Pas-de-Calais. The objective is to ensure ecological and hunting management of the site: optimization of ecological potential, sustainable hunting approach, public awareness of biodiversity and the compatibility between sustainable hunting and environmental conservation.

Under the supervision of the Federation thanks to a first ecological inventory of the site (fauna and flora) and an active collaboration with the owner, several restoration projects have been set up: willow re-growing, reed mowing, restoration of a pond.
