The network “Ongulés sauvages – Office National de la Chasse et de la Faune Sauvage (ONCFS) – Fédération Nationale des Chasseurs (FNC) – Fédérations départementales des chasseurs (FDC)” has as its mission to conduct monitoring of large game species in France, of protected (ibex) and exotic (such as the sika stag, for example) ungulates at the communal, departmental, regional and national levels.

It produces hunting statistics and makes it possible to estimate the geographical distribution and demographic trend of species. It contributes to the knowledge of the types of environments occupied, the management methods used, and the problems encountered (impact on the agricultural or forestry environment, spatial fragmentation, collisions, development of exotic species).

Country: France
Species characteristics: Huntable species, Protected species
Type of actions: Management of habitats and wildlife
Leading partners: Fédération départementale des chasseurs, Office National de la Chasse et de la Faune Sauvage (ONCFS), Fédération Nationale des Chasseurs (FNC)
