The Hunters Federation of Marne is taking part in the CORRIBIOR study conducted by the University of Reims, which focuses on the transport routes used by deer and marten. In 2018, the Federation participated in the “photographic traps” component set up on the A4 motorway and the high-speed line.
They contributed to the capture of martens and deer to equip them with GPS collars.
The problem of mortality in the canals is also one of the concerns of the Federation, which launched an online survey in the fall of 2017 to collect observations from users of the canal and its banks. This survey, combined with a field diagnosis, provides a better understanding of the phenomenon. Regular exchanges with “Voies Navigables de France” should make it possible to find solutions.
