After years of reflection, the adventure began in 2010 at the initiative of ACOML and the GIC Loire supported by the Fédération des chasseurs du Loiret. It was necessary to find a name for the operation, in order to drop it off, find meeting points and volunteers to organize them and, to find partners and sponsors.
The human adventure began on March 6, 2010 at the departmental level with 215 participants.
The following year, few other departments in the Loire Valley joined the project. In 2014, as the project took on a national dimension, the LOIRE CLEAN operation, renamed “Clean Rivers”, was entrusted to the Wildlife Habitat Protection Foundation.
