Since 2021, Blaser has been helping hunters and farmers to effectively protect small game and wildlife. When the grass is mowed in early summer, Blaser loans out drones with thermal imaging cameras to district hunters’ associations, local gamekeeping groups and individual hunters.
In the first year, the teams were based in Germany, but Blaser has since loaned drones to teams in France, Hungary, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, and Austria.
In the first season (2021), the tireless volunteers rescued more than 278 fawns, three crane chicks, three juvenile rabbits, three duck eggs and a red deer calf.
The Blaser Fawn-Rescuer wildlife protection project has successfully ended its third season this year with good success. Over the past two seasons, over 400 fawns have been rescued.
By collaborating closely with hunters and conservationists in the field, this project showcases Blaser’s dedication to game and wildlife conservation around Europe.
This project builds on a growing interest in using the latest technology to protect wildlife at critical times of the year, e.g. Karlsruhe Drone Rescue Project.
Since 2020, Blaser has been a FACE Gold Patron, supporting FACE’s mission to promote a strong future for sustainable hunting and conservation in Europe.
