The Grand’Mare marsh has been a hunting and wildlife reserve since 1956 and is owned by the Office National de la Chasse et la Faune Sauvage (ONCFS).
The Fédération des chasseurs de l’Eure is responsible for the management of the Grand’Mare marsh.
Deforestation and grazing activities made it possible to create ponds. Cleaning work is carried out to save the natural pond. The Federation also regulates wild boars and pests and fights against the closure of the environment. Grand’Mare is a major site for the ringing of snipes and teals.
In terms of welcoming the public, the Federation organizes “open days” on the site to show the contribution of hunters in nature conservation.
