The national network “Bécasse-ONCFS/FNC/FDC” is interested in monitoring Woodcock populations in France. Monitoring concerns both the breeding population and the wintering population.

The monitoring of the wintering population is supplemented by data collected by the Club national des bécassiers (CNB) and Bécassiers de France (BDF) from their member hunters. The network includes about 380 banders, professionals from the National Hunting and Wildlife Office (ONCFS) and Departmental Hunters’ Federations (FDC) as well as volunteers from national hunting associations.
