Between November 2014 and February 2015, Barbary macaques in Bab Berred, Morocco, were illegally killed bu poachers. The local Hunters? Association is working together with and supporting the BMAC (Barbary Maquaque Awareness & Conservation) against illegal killing activities. Meetings so far have proven productive, and a programme of workshops, training and interviews is further facilitating the good working relationship between the two parties. This project will improve understanding of hunters? perceptions and motivations regarding wildlife, and will benefit species in north Morocco by improving hunters? wildlife ID and conservation field skills.
