Hunters in many districts of Emilia Romagna regions create new wetlands on fields that otherwise would be cultivated. The new wetlands are named fixed hide or AFV (private shooting areas) and in many districts the owner must maintain water all year long in the pond, in order to offer suitable habitat also during pre-nuptial migration and breeding season.
