Field/rural area’s wildlife triangle monitoring for the estimation of game species population. Goal: The improvement of the knowledge of game species populations, their development and trends.
Triangle of 6 km line in rural habitat (houses, fields, forest). All snow tracks of game mammals and grouses that cross the line are counted . Survey takes place in the middle of every winter.
This monitoring type have been specefically developed for rural areas based on the basic game triangle monitoring.
Getting the information on how hunting affects game species, the interaction between predators and prey, between the habitat and prey/game and the diversity of game fauna. Results are used for setting the hunting quotas and making conservation actions necessary. monitoring mainly done by hunters but not coordinated by the Association
