To allow the recovery of the Balkan lynx Camera trapping in potential habitat to confirm the presence of lynx; Creation of protected areas centred around areas of known lynx activity in both Albania and Macedonia; providing payments to local inhabitants for them to continue their traditional, sustainable, rural livelihoods; collaboration with hunters in joint workshops and education campaigns such as environmental education of school children in Balkan lynx areas.
A database has been created, which contains all the available information about the Balkan lynx prey. Meetings and workshops have been organized with the local doers and the members of the monitoring network.
An improved version of the field guide for the Balkan lynx has been reprinted, as well as leaflets for noticing lynx victims and a panel exhibition in Macedonian, Albanian and English. An international camp for monitoring methods was organized and carried out. Also organized and educative excursion for all the society doers who are relevant for the lynx program and the transboundary protected areas, we carried out the Program for small grants in the region of Ilinska ? Plakenska Mts. Established contacts with the future partners from Montenegro and Kosovo for their participation in the activities for Balkan lynx protection.
Hunters help enforce the protected areas’ regulations; hunters collaborated with conservationists in joint workshops and education campaigns.
